英語教育を軸に、「多文化・多重人種の言語とアイデンティティ」、「大学における障害学生への合理的配慮とアクセシビリティ」、「ユニバーサルデザインを授業設計へ適用する方法」、「バーチャルモビリティ」や「デジタルビデオゲームを学習ツールとして活用する可能性」などを実践的に探る研究を行っている。教育現場の管理者向けガイドや教員支援枠組みの提示、視覚障害など特定のニーズを持つ学習者への指導設計と評価も最近の主要研究テーマである。
