概要	This paper examines the impact of industrial estates on surrounding villages in Karawang Regency, West Java, Indonesia. The paper spotlights a significant mismatch between the average educational and skill levels of the villagers and those required by companies in the estates. Rapid inflow of immigrants with higher educational or skill levels is rapidly alienating original villagers from newly emerging socio-spatial order. The paper claims that further assistance to villagers are important to stop the further social cleavages.
